Silver Shoes

I finally got to wear my silver ballet flats I bought a few weeks ago (read about them here).
Ignore the messy room in the background...I know I'm not a fashion blogger but here is the breakdown of my outfit :)

NY&Co Shirt: $10....Roses
Black Belt: $6 ....Roses
Black Jeggings: $20....Cato
Silver Flats: $9...Time After Time Consignment
Total: $45

Side Note: My amazing fiance' bought me the beautiful leaner mirror from Wal*Mart that I have been lusting over...it was waiting for me when I got home...I love his little surprises! :)

It's so fluffy I'm gonna dye!

I couldn't think of a catchy title. Although in my last blog I mentioned I cleaned out our closet, I did do something else....I dyed my hair! I tried the new John Frieda Precision Foam Color-Brown Black.  This was the first time I have ever used a foam dye and it wasn't too bad...it didn't have the bad chemical smell (although Chris would disagree) and it didn't burn! :)

Closet Makeover

I know I know its not "thrifty" but it's what I did this weekend and I am thrilled with the results. I bought some new non-thrift store clothing over the weekend from Cato and I was out of hangers and did not want to go back out and buy new hangers so I just cleaned out our closet(my stuff) to empty up some hangers. I went through every item I had hanging  and just started tossing. I have gotten rid of all my teenager-y items and some stuff I don't wear anymore because I don't like the way it looks on me. After I was finished I had a bunch of hangers and a trash bag filled with clothing and shoes which I will take to the girls that work with mom and let them get what they want and then the rest goes to charity. Mom told me about this man that takes a truck up to Virgina and Kentucky in the poor areas and gives people whatever they want from that truck. It breaks my heart because of the story my mom told me. This little girl came to the man and asked for 3 hangers. He asked if she wanted any toys or anything else...her answer was no just three hangers. She had three dresses and at that moment they were hung on a nail and she wanted them on hangers. It just makes me feel so blessed with everything I have.

Back to my closet. We have three that we use. One in the bedroom for majority of our clothing. One in the game room for his uniforms, his shoes and my dresses/skirts and one in the living room for coats/hoodies. Our main closet is split in two...he has the top part because I am short and I took the bottom half because hes tall. On the floor I have my shoes because I have more and I needed the room..our main closet looks tiny in the picture but its actually more roomy because there is a lot of it you can not see because it goes behind the walls...weird but hey this is an old house...I also put all of the in season shoes on the floor and the rest in a laundry basket shoved moved to the back of the closet. I also added a 3m hook for $3 to hang up the clothes I plan on wearing the next day, I don't do mornings but my job requires me to be there at 8 am so I like to make as painless as possible for me in the mornings and I am always grateful for my night self getting things ready for my morning self. I also want to add a corkboard some where in our room for inspiration board I get so tired of wearing the same things together. I will keep you updated on that.

i carry your heart with me by e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

$40

Today Chris and I went to the 221 Flea Market and Goodwill and I set a budget for myself of $40. So what can you buy for $40? I bought a pair of gray leather flat boots(NEW!), a Worthington wool trench, The Limited white wool pea coat(love the buttons), Izod long sleeve polo(Chris), Ivy Crew golf windbreaker(Chris), Callahan's Auto Parts tee(TOMMY BOY! Chris Farley), and a green candle holder.

Not the best picture but you get the idea ;).

***I am going to start couponing to see how that will work for us. I have plenty of free time I've just been to lazy to clip them. I will give an update on how that goes.***

Deal of the day

Today while out and about selling advertising I stopped in to my favorite local consignment shop Time After Time (I was working...promise). After we chatted for a minute I took a moment to browse around and I found these beauties. Metallic Silver Born flats..I fell in love and at a steal for $9! These shoes sale for $85-$135 retail! I say SCCCOOOOORRREEE...now I just need to figure out what to wear with them. :)

I also have to say I have the most wonderful fiance', when I came home from work he had a surprise waiting on me. He left me an orchid(I have been saying I want one for months now), an Amazon Kindle with accessories and a card that read "Just because I love you" <3

The bestie and I loaded up the kids and hit Sparkle City (Spartanburg SC). Our first stop was Target. I wish we had one here but alas we do not. I adore my new cardigan I got there for $20 and my gray ankle boots. I'm still not sure how I will pair them up but they are super cute. On our way home the girls were asleep so we decided to head to Shelby to Goodwill.

I picked up some pretty great things this weekend but one of my favorites I didn't even find...The bestie saw them and brought them to my attention...BOOOOOOTTTTSSSS :)

I also scored some pumps :) I heart shoes if you haven't noticed. ;)

I also picked up an air mattress and pump for $14.99. I was a little worried that the pump didn't work or the mattress would have a hole, but when Chris blew it up it was perfect.

Monday night was my birthday(I'm 26) and our anniversary, so Chris and I went to Golden Coral in Shelby. After dinner he took me to Goodwill *smile* (he knows me too well). I picked up a L.L.Bean Red Wool Trench. I wore it today to work and I love it.

No Hanger Appeal
I also picked up another skirt that I will turn into a dress.

skirt turned dress
I also picked up a black skirt and a navy stripe Nautica cardigan.

I haven't really been blogging because I have been watching Dexter. I am addicted to it! You may think I am weird to be obsessed with a show about a serial killer but it has a great story line. :)

yummy ;)
I am also digging Adele. I love her voice and her music. She is fantastic! Check out her album 19 and her new album 21 will come out later this month! :) She is also beautiful and plus size, such a role model.
